Acute Medicine Specialist

About The Role
Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced Specialist Acute Medicine Physician to provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and ongoing management of patients presenting with acute medical conditions. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in acute and emergency medical care, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with acute medical presentations.
- Manage conditions including sepsis, acute respiratory failure, chest pain, acute heart failure, stroke, infections, gastrointestinal emergencies, and metabolic disorders.
- Provide early stabilization and initiate appropriate emergency treatment.
- Interpret ECGs, laboratory investigations, X-rays, CT scans, and other diagnostic studies.
- Manage patients with multiple comorbidities and complex acute medical conditions.
- Coordinate admissions, referrals, and transfers to appropriate specialties or critical care.
- Provide appropriate treatment and monitoring for deteriorating patients.
- Work closely with Emergency Medicine, ICU, Cardiology, Neurology, Respiratory Medicine, and other specialties.
- Participate in rapid response and emergency resuscitation when required.
- Develop and review individualized treatment plans and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, and continuing medical education.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Acute Medicine / Internal Medicine / Acute Internal Medicine, such as MD, DNB, MRCP, Arab Board, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
- Strong experience in acute medical assessment and management.
- Excellent clinical decision-making and patient-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within a multidisciplinary team.
