Privacy Policy
Version 1.1.0 | Effective March 8, 2025 | Last updated September 1, 2026
1. Introduction
JobSpring ("we," "our," or "us") is a global job platform: we aggregate publicly available job listings, and we let job seekers build a reusable profile and apply to roles, and employers post roles and review candidates. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It covers our websites and services, whether you browse logged out or hold an account.
2. Information You Provide
- Account data — name, email address, password (stored hashed), and account type (job seeker or employer).
- Profile and resume data — work history, skills, education, location, compensation preferences, links, and any resume file you upload. You control what your profile contains and its visibility settings.
- Application data — the applications you submit, including any answers, documents, and messages exchanged with employers.
- Employer data — company details, job postings, and hiring criteria posted by employer accounts.
- Requests you send us — support messages and content-removal requests (our removal form asks for your name, email, the content location, and your grounds; see Section 8).
- Payment data — where paid features apply, payments are processed by our payment providers. We receive transaction confirmations, not your full card or wallet credentials.
3. Information Collected Automatically
- Usage and device data — pages visited, searches run, approximate location derived from your IP, browser and device type, and security logs (for example sign-in events).
- Cookies and similar technologies — described in our Cookie Policy. Analytics runs only with your consent where consent is required; you can change your choice any time via Cookie Settings.
4. Aggregated Job Listings
A large part of what we show — job listings and company information — is aggregated from publicly available sources such as employer career sites and applicant-tracking-system boards. We link back to the original source and do not claim ownership of that content. Where a listing contains personal data (for example a named recruiter contact), it came from the public source. If content about you or your organization should be corrected or removed, use our content removal form.
5. How We Use Information
- Operating the platform: search, listings, profiles, applications, and messaging between candidates and employers.
- Auto-filling applications and parsing uploaded resumes into structured profile fields, which you review before applying. Resume parsing may use automated extraction services acting as our processors (Section 7); parsing results are suggestions you confirm or edit — no hiring decision is made about you by automation on our platform.
- Sending service communications (account, application status, and — where you opt in — job alerts). Marketing email is opt-out at any time.
- Measuring and improving the product, with analytics gated on consent where required.
- Security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and legal compliance. Where we record the source of an abuse or removal request, we store a salted hash of the IP address rather than the raw address.
6. Sharing Your Information
- Employers — when you apply, the employer receives your application and the profile fields it includes. Public profile visibility is controlled by your settings; logged-out visitors see at most the limited public form of a profile.
- Service providers (processors) — hosting, content delivery and security, search infrastructure, email delivery, payment processing, and resume-parsing services, each bound to process data only on our instructions (Section 7).
- Legal — where required by law, or to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect the platform and its users.
- We do not sell your personal information.
7. Where Your Data Lives
Our primary application infrastructure is self-hosted in the European Union. Some processors (for example content delivery, email, analytics, payment, and resume-parsing providers) may process data in other jurisdictions; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We select resume-parsing providers whose terms do not permit training on your data.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, object to the processing of, or delete your personal data. You can edit or delete most of your data directly in your account settings. For anything else — including deletion requests, objections, and removal of aggregated content about you — use the content removal form or email us (Section 12). We respond within the timelines the applicable law sets (for example, one month under the GDPR). You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
9. Retention
Account and profile data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymized after account deletion, except where we must retain records (for example transaction records, or evidence of a handled legal request). Aggregated listings expire from public view on their own lifecycle and are pruned from search over time. Security logs are kept for a limited period proportionate to their purpose.
10. Data Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk: encrypted transport, role-restricted database access with row-level security, salted hashing where identifiers do not need to be stored raw, and audit logging of sensitive operations. No internet service can guarantee absolute security; if a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
11. Children
JobSpring is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy; material changes will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and where a change materially affects account holders we will notify you in the product or by email. Questions and requests: [email protected] (privacy requests) or [email protected] (legal and removal matters).
