Consultant Pathologist

About The Role
Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced Consultant Pathologist to provide expert diagnostic pathology services across surgical, cytological, hematological, and laboratory disciplines. The ideal candidate should have strong diagnostic expertise, excellent clinical judgment, and experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert interpretation of histopathology, cytology, and laboratory specimens.
- Diagnose and report a broad range of benign, malignant, and inflammatory conditions.
- Review and interpret surgical pathology specimens, biopsies, and cytological samples.
- Perform and interpret immunohistochemistry and special stains where applicable.
- Provide accurate and timely pathology reports to support clinical decision-making.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical case discussions.
- Correlate pathology findings with clinical history, imaging, and other investigations.
- Provide intraoperative consultation and frozen-section assessment where appropriately trained.
- Supervise laboratory quality, diagnostic standards, and pathology workflows.
- Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, physicians, and other specialists.
- Ensure appropriate specimen handling, processing, documentation, and quality control.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, research, and continuing medical education.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pathology / Anatomical Pathology / Clinical Pathology, such as MD, DNB, FRCPath, Arab Board, or equivalent.
- Significant post-specialization experience with Consultant-level pathology experience.
- Strong experience in diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology.
- Excellent diagnostic accuracy, clinical judgment, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
