About The Role

Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced Specialist Infectious Disease Physician to diagnose, treat, and prevent a wide range of infectious diseases. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in antimicrobial therapy, infection management, and complex infectious disease cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive consultations and clinical assessments for patients with suspected or confirmed infections.
  • Diagnose and manage bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections.
  • Manage complex infections including sepsis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, meningitis, endocarditis, and bloodstream infections.
  • Develop appropriate antimicrobial treatment plans based on clinical findings, cultures, and sensitivity results.
  • Provide expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and appropriate antibiotic use.
  • Evaluate patients with recurrent, atypical, and treatment-resistant infections.
  • Interpret microbiology, laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic investigations.
  • Manage infections in immunocompromised and high-risk patients.
  • Provide consultation for hospital-acquired and healthcare-associated infections.
  • Collaborate with microbiologists, intensivists, surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists.
  • Support infection prevention and control initiatives within the healthcare facility.
  • Counsel patients regarding infection prevention, vaccination, treatment adherence, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, research, and continuing medical education.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases / Infectious Disease Medicine, such as MD, DNB, MRCP, Arab Board, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong experience in the diagnosis and management of complex infectious diseases.
  • Good knowledge of antimicrobial therapy and infection-control practices.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
