Leading private hospital in the UAE is looking for an experienced Consultant Visceral Surgeon with strong expertise in complex abdominal and gastrointestinal surgery. The role involves managing a diverse range of elective and emergency surgical cases, providing comprehensive perioperative care, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will contribute to advanced surgical services, clinical excellence, patient safety, and the continued development of visceral and gastrointestinal surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex visceral and gastrointestinal surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency abdominal and gastrointestinal surgical procedures.
• Manage conditions involving the stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and other abdominal organs according to clinical expertise.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical treatment plans.
• Provide post-operative management and monitor patients for complications and recovery.
• Manage complex and emergency abdominal surgical cases.
• Work closely with gastroenterology, oncology, radiology, anesthesia, critical care, and other specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and complex surgical case discussions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of patient safety and infection control.
• Participate in clinical audits, teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support the development of advanced visceral and gastrointestinal surgical services.

Requirements

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery, Visceral Surgery, or a relevant surgical specialty.
• UK CCT/CCST in General Surgery or an appropriate relevant surgical specialty.
• Established Consultant-level clinical experience.
• Strong experience in complex abdominal, gastrointestinal, and visceral surgery.
• Proven experience managing elective and emergency surgical cases.
• Experience in a leading private hospital, tertiary-care center, or advanced surgical setting preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team.
