About The Role

Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced Specialist Sports Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in sports injury management and a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions .
  • Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans for athletes and active individuals.
  • Manage acute and chronic sports injuries involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and bones.
  • Evaluate conditions such as sprains, strains, tendinopathies, ligament injuries, stress injuries, and overuse syndromes .
  • Perform and interpret appropriate imaging and diagnostic investigations.
  • Perform point-of-care musculoskeletal ultrasound where appropriately trained.
  • Provide ultrasound-guided injections and other minimally invasive treatments within the scope of expertise.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation programs with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, and other specialists.
  • Develop injury-prevention and return-to-sport programs.
  • Assess patients for safe return to training and competitive activities.
  • Provide guidance on exercise, conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Sports Medicine / Sports & Exercise Medicine / Orthopedics / Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation or an equivalent relevant specialty qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong experience in sports injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and musculoskeletal examination skills.
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
