Consultant Neonatologist (American / Australian Board)

About The Role

One of the leading hospital in the UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant Neonatologist to provide specialized care to premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns within the NICU and newborn nursery. The role involves managing complex neonatal cases, supporting high-risk deliveries, and working closely with pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to premature and critically ill newborns.
  • Manage complex NICU cases, including respiratory distress, sepsis and congenital conditions.
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization of high-risk newborns.
  • Assist during high-risk and premature deliveries.
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and other advanced neonatal support.
  • Monitor nutrition, growth and development of neonates.
  • Counsel and support parents regarding their baby's condition and treatment.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and teaching activities.

Requirements

  • MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics and/or Neonatology .
  • Fellowship/subspecialty training in Neonatology preferred.
  • Consultant-level experience in Neonatology.
  • Strong experience in a Level III/IV NICU and management of critically ill neonates.
  • Experience with neonatal ventilation, resuscitation and advanced intensive care.
  • Tier-1/Western qualification preferred — UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian Royal College, Australian/New Zealand or Irish qualification.
  • Eligible for DHA/DOH/MOHAP licensing.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
