BASIC JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Mission Services, the Manager of Employment Services is responsible for managing a team of Employment Consultants. Managers lead team members in the process of strategizing, execution, quality assurance evaluation, and modification of both the work of the team and individual contributions. Through assessment and achievement of key quality indicators and outcomes for the people we serve, Managers will contribute to AtWork!’s mission to empower people with disabilities to be productive, integrated, and contributing members of their communities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Director to define team roles, select team members, and agree on team’s assigned
  • projects, caseload and expected results
  • Assist the Director to ensure ongoing CARF accreditation compliance, and other contract compliance, as well as proper data reporting, mechanisms, and formats.
  • Responsible for generating negotiated outcomes such as job placements and billable hours.
  • Leads a team effort to plan schedules and delegate work, including caseloads, billable hours, and outcome expectations.
  • Participate in leadership development training and other training as directed and required by Human Resources or by Mission Leadership
  • Maintain working knowledge of persons served and circle of support regarding progress on and outcomes of the employment plan.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with businesses in the community, current employers, other nonprofits, and funders
  • Responsible for ongoing performance management and completing annual performance based reviews for your team.
  • Participate in all AtWork! management meetings as well as regular 1:1 meetings with team members.
  • Plan and schedule regular staff meetings and trainings
  • Assist with Timecards, adjustments, and Payroll as needed
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY & OVERSIGHT RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides direct supervision to Employment Consultants and assigned team members within Employment Services. Responsible for hiring recommendations, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, performance management, and professional development of direct reports. Sets expectations for caseload management, billable performance, documentation standards, and employment outcomes; conducts regular 1:1 meetings and performance evaluations; addresses personnel concerns; and ensures consistent application of policies and procedures across the team.

Oversight Responsibilities: Provides program-level oversight of Employment Services to ensure quality service delivery, contract compliance, timely billing, and achievement of negotiated employment outcomes. Monitors caseload assignments, quality indicators, budget performance, and documentation standards; ensures accurate and timely completion of DDA and DVR billing requirements; and identifies operational risks, funding changes, or compliance concerns, escalating material issues to the Director of Mission Services as appropriate. Supports strategic planning, employer engagement, and continuous quality improvement efforts within the division.

Qualifications

NECESSARY SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with coworkers, customers, and their families, and/or home staff, employers, funding sources, and the community.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills, including building relationships with community partners, businesses, families, and staff.
  • High level of professionalism in appearance, actions, and words
  • Proficiency with general basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to relate to a diverse set of situations and individuals
  • Self-directed and can work independently

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & TRAINING

Minimum qualifications for this position may be satisfied by a combination of education and experience as outlined below.

Formal Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in social work, human services, public administration, community
  • organization & advocacy or related field (Preferred)
  • Extensive experience may substitute education, in some cases.

Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in employment or disability related services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Job Development, Job Creation, systematic training, job carving, and available funding sources related to services provided.
  • 1+ year in a management or supervisory role (Preferred)

Training/Certification/Licenses

Ability to pass background investigation

Valid Washington State Driver License

  • Ability to pass a five (5) year Driving Record Check
  • Proof of valid auto insurance

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work environment is varied and includes office settings, community businesses, government facilities, and outdoor environments. The employee must be able to travel between locations and provide support in a variety of work settings.

Lift/carry/push/pull up to 30 pounds

Walking for up to three (3) hours at a time; standing for up to four (4) hours at a time

Sitting for up to eight (8) hours at a time

Working outdoors in varying weather conditions and traversing uneven ground

Ascending and descending stairs, steps, and step stools.

Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between office and community locations daily
