We design, develop, and support connectivity solutions leveraging remote SIM provisioning platforms, managing a complex ecosystem of SIM/eSIM technologies, providing SIM/eSIM card logistics and fulfilment, and supporting a global customer <base.You> will have the opportunity to work with emerging connectivity technologies including 5G, non-terrestrial networks, and the evolution of eSIM to the latest GSMA specifications. You should enjoy working proactively in a dynamic, highly flexible environment and bring a positive, open, and analytical mindset to the team.ResponsibilitiesSupport the design, validation, and maintenance of electrical profiles for SIM and eSIM productsDesign and implement Java Card applets for SIM/eSIM services, working to 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA standardsWrite and maintain technical documentation (e.g. applet specification, electrical profile specifications, APIs, test plans)Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mobile core network, security, IoT device vendors, smart card (eUICC) vendors)Develop, test, and support SIM-based applications and tools supporting SIM applications and their integration within the SIM/eSIM ecosystemContribute to peer review of electrical test data and reports, supporting the technical growth of team membersWhat’s in it for You?This is an excellent opportunity for a SIM Engineer II to gain hands-on experience of the complete end-to-end process of SIM/eSIM ordering and provisioning, SIM/eSIM Over-the-Air (OTA) infrastructure and management, SIM Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) solutions for M2M and IoT, SIM–device–network interaction, and more. You’ll work in a small team of experienced engineers at the cutting edge of M2M and IoT eSIM technologies, supporting technical teams across full end-to-end solutions and gaining exposure to diverse technical areas.Required SkillsThird level qualification in a technology discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, or similar3–6 years’ experience working in a technology organisation, preferably telecoms technology, with up to 3 years’ experience in SIM/eSIM/OTA engineering R&DExperience with Remote SIM Provisioning technologies (GSMA SGP.02, GSMA SGP.22/SGP.32)Good knowledge of SIM/eSIM architecture and protocols (APDU, ISO 7816)Familiarity with 3GPP/ETSI standards relevant to SIMs (e.g., TS 31.102, TS 102.221)Experience with smart card test & trace tools (e.g., Comprion)Understanding of secure coding practices and cryptographic protocolsProficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and development toolsKnowledge of SIM operating systems for secure elements (e.g., MULTOS, native SIM OS)Experience working with MNOs or handset OEMs and familiarity with mobile network elements (HSS, OTA platforms, test SIMs)Experience/knowledge of Postman API, Java, C#, SQL, scripting knowledgeExperience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., DataDog, Zabbix)Proactive and open-minded with analytical and problem-solving skillsFast learner with curiosity and quality focusAbility to work unsupervised and take responsibility for task completionEffective communication skillsDesirable SkillsFamiliarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)Experience working in a Kanban modelDemonstrable problem-solving ability and new perspectives on existing solutionsIndependent work ethic and willingness to contribute to process improvementsAbility to guide and mentor less experienced colleagues and lead small project teamsNew hires at Cubic³ are required to work onsite five days a week during their six-month probation period to get to know the company, their team, and our ways of working.
