The KPMG Global Services (KGS) Tax is a diverse team spread across multiple cities in India. We provide tax and compliance services to KPMG Firms globally. Our core services include Business Tax, Global Mobility, Indirect Tax, Global Transfer Pricing, Global Trade Compliance and Tax Technology delivered by our professionals, who are known for their technical acumen and business insights to deliver exceptional client service.

Roles & responsibilities
Engagement Ownership & Delivery Accountability
- •Own allocated engagements, workstreams or portfolio areas and deliver to agreed quality, timeline and budget expectations.
- •Define priorities, milestones, responsibilities, dependencies and review points before each delivery cycle.
- •Monitor progress during critical periods, remove blockers and escalate material risks with practical mitigation options.
- •Embed trackers, checklists, quality controls and clear handoffs to maintain at least 95% RFT (right first time) across the assigned portfolio.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- •Lead day-to-day engagement operations, workflow tracking, capacity management and smooth task transitions.
- •Prepare and lead internal and onshore status discussions; record decisions, actions, owners and timelines within one business day.
- •Build stakeholder confidence through proactive communication, reliable follow-through and clear escalation.

Quality, Risk & Issue Management
- •Review key deliverables and reports before internal or onshore sharing against agreed quality and client expectations.
- •Document issues, root causes, actions and resolutions; lead lessons-learned discussions and convert findings into improvements.
- •Promote second-level reviews, standardised checks and early identification of quality risks.

People Management & Commercial Discipline
- •Coach Associates and Senior Associates, provide timely feedback, support onboarding and act as Performance Manager or mentor where assigned.
- •Delegate according to capability, development need and delivery risk while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- •Manage work within budget, review hours versus budget and timesheets regularly, and improve resource mix, automation and controls.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- •Lead adherence to SOPs, control checklists, approval workflows and issue logs.
- •Drive practical improvements that reduce rework, strengthen controls and improve efficiency.
- •Support task penetration, transition and adoption of standardised templates or automation.
Team Support & Knowledge Sharing
- •Coach and develop Associates and Senior Associates through structured guidance and review comments.
- Lead onboarding, knowledge sharing and capability building for assigned workstreams
- Educational qualifications
- •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputable university with excellent academic result, majoring in accounting or finance or a similar field.
- •5 - 7 years of experience in Global Mobility, Compensation, Payroll, HR Operations, or Shared Services, preferably from one of the Big 4
- ATT, GPHR, GMS - T, CIPP qualification would be an advantage
