About the role

Majesco is looking for an enthusiastic and curious AI Engineer to join our technology team. In this entry-level role, you will help build, test, and improve Generative AI solutions powered by large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI agents.

You will work closely with experienced engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to turn practical enterprise use cases into reliable AI-enabled capabilities. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys learning quickly, experimenting with new technologies, and building solutions that create measurable value.

Key responsibilities

• Build prototypes and production-ready components using large language models and Generative AI frameworks.
• Develop prompt templates, evaluation datasets, and testing approaches to improve the quality and reliability of AI outputs.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation solutions using embeddings, vector databases, and enterprise knowledge sources.
• Contribute to the design and development of AI agents, including tool use, workflow orchestration, memory, and guardrails.
• Integrate AI capabilities with APIs, applications, databases, and other enterprise systems.
• Prepare, clean, and transform data used for model experimentation and evaluation.
• Conduct experiments, compare approaches, document findings, and recommend practical improvements.
• Monitor AI solution quality, latency, cost, and failure cases, and help troubleshoot issues.
• Follow responsible AI, security, privacy, and software engineering practices.
• Collaborate with senior engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and iterative delivery.
• Create clear technical documentation for solutions, experiments, and operational procedures.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in software development, data science, machine learning, or Generative AI; relevant academic projects and internships are welcome.
• Working knowledge of Python and common software development practices.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts such as training, validation, overfitting, classification, regression, and evaluation metrics.
• Familiarity with LLM concepts such as tokens, embeddings, context windows, temperature, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning.
• Experience using REST APIs, JSON, Git, and notebooks or similar development tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and explain technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A proactive learning mindset and willingness to work with evolving AI technologies.

Good to have

• Experience with frameworks or libraries such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Hugging Face, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with vector databases such as FAISS, Chroma, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Azure AI Search.
• Exposure to cloud AI services from providers such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of AI agent patterns, function calling, tool use, workflow orchestration, or multi-step reasoning.
• Familiarity with prompt evaluation, LLM-as-a-judge approaches, observability, or red-teaming.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, SQL, or cloud-native application development.
• Experience building academic, personal, or open-source AI projects.
• Knowledge of data privacy, security, responsible AI, and enterprise access controls.

• Build a strong foundation in Majesco’s engineering practices and enterprise AI standards.
• Deliver small Generative AI features or prototypes with guidance from senior team members.
• Create repeatable prompts, evaluation cases, and documentation for assigned use cases.
• Contribute code that is maintainable, testable, secure, and ready for team review.
• Demonstrate the ability to investigate failures, learn from results, and improve solution quality.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate progress, risks, and findings.
