Role description

Arcadis is currently seeking an Entry Level Construction Inspector to provide support for a NYCDEP construction project located in Yonkers, NY.

You will be responsible for assisting the construction management team with CM field office responsibilities and inspection of construction activities as necessary. This position requires the ability to work in an active construction project environment and will include both field office and boots-on-the-ground field work.

Role accountabilities

  • Updating conformed contract drawings in accordance with Request for Information (RFI) responses and change orders.
  • Developing and utilizing Excel for tracking of equipment utilization, materials, manpower for change orders.
  • Completing field inspection reports in e-Builder.
  • Managing inspection photos and other documents on the CM SharePoint site.
  • Assisting with the preparation of Monthly Reports and Monthly Construction Progress Meeting presentations.
  • Assist with managing day-to-day CM Team activities as required by the Construction Manager, Resident Engineer and other CM staff as necessary.
  • Working with the CM Safety Team tracking safety performance.
  • Participating in meetings and developing meeting minutes.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential for preparing reports, tracking data, and creating presentations. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to successfully pass a site security background check, ensuring compliance with project and organizational requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or University Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial or industrial hands-on construction experience.
  • Previous experience with field engineering, construction management, and construction oversight.
  • 10-Hour OSHA Construction Training.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $62,353 - $98,366 / per year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
