About The Role

G&E Real Estate Management Services Inc. seeks a skilled Electrical Technician to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the core electrical systems that power our mission‑critical facilities. Working 24/7/365 shift schedules, you will ensure reliable generation, distribution, backup, and emergency power operations, supporting data‑center‑grade environments and other high‑availability assets.

  • Monitor and operate electrical distribution, UPS, generators, ATS, and BMS to maintain optimal performance.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs using the CMMS platform.
  • Lead emergency response and root‑cause analysis for power outages or equipment faults.
  • Develop, review, and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs), SOPs, and Emergency Operating Procedures.
  • Enforce safety standards, including NFPA 70E, LOTO, and Arc Flash protection.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and upgrades.
  • Manage load balancing, capacity planning, and redundancy (N+1, 2N) to prevent overloads.
  • Troubleshoot and repair critical electrical components such as switchgear, PDUs, and battery systems.
  • Assist with system upgrades, installations, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of schematics, control drawings, and equipment records.
  • Trade school, military training, or Associate degree in Electrical Technology (or equivalent).
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (highly preferred).
  • NFPA 70E certification and OSHA 10/30 safety training (preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in a critical environment (data center, hospital, telecom, etc.).
  • Proficiency reading single‑line diagrams, schematics, and control drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of UPS topologies, generators, switchgear, and power monitoring systems.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lb and work safely in loud, confined electrical rooms.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and calm decision‑making under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills for documenting work and briefing non‑technical stakeholders.
