Cyber Security Engineer (Application Security)

Join the Financial Times, a leading global news organization, as a Cyber Security Engineer focused on application security. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with engineering teams to improve application security across the FT's cloud-native technology estate. You will help implement developer-friendly security practices, triage application vulnerabilities, and support threat modeling. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in application security, a developer-friendly mindset, and familiarity with vulnerability management and CI/CD workflows.

• Help improve application security across the FT’s cloud-native technology estate by working with product, platform, and software engineering teams.
• Enhance developer-friendly security guardrails across GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines, application repositories, and engineering workflows.
• Support practical threat modeling, triage application vulnerabilities, improve security playbooks, and help teams remediate issues in a pragmatic way.
