Backend Engineer - Marketplace

Join Yakeey, a fast-growing PropTech company based in Casablanca, Morocco. As a Backend Engineer, you will own the Marketplace domain within Yakeey's platform, developing and maintaining micro-services, designing APIs, and ensuring alignment with the global architecture. You will collaborate with adjacent teams, participate in architectural discussions, implement best practices, and mentor junior developers. Ideal candidates should have solid experience in backend systems, deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, and a strong understanding of micro-services architecture and RESTful API design.

• Développer et maintenir des micro-services dans le domaine assigné en utilisant Java/Spring Boot, en suivant la conception pilotée par le domaine et nos normes architecturales établies.
• Concevoir et exposer des API qui intègrent les services de votre domaine avec d'autres composants de la plateforme, permettant une interopérabilité transparente.
• Collaborer avec les équipes adjacentes (front-end, données, DevOps, IA) pour comprendre les dépendances et garantir que les solutions dans votre domaine s'intègrent parfaitement à leurs composants.
• **Curiosity for next‑generation AI technologies** – Demonstrated interest in or experience with intelligent agents, large language models (LLMs), Model Context Protocol (MCP) and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) architectures. A “geek” mindset that enjoys exploring and experimenting with emerging AI tools and applying them in practical scenarios.
• Solid experience building backend systems, with deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of micro‑services architecture, RESTful API design and domain‑driven design; experience with event‑driven patterns is a plus.
• Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS) and familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform).
• Broad knowledge of front‑end frameworks (React/Next.js)
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality software.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other domain teams.
• Familiarity with fintech, proptech or similar regulated domains is beneficial; proficiency in French or Arabic is a plus.
