About The Role

Join Snorkel, a rapidly growing AI company, as an Accounting Manager specializing in Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting. In this role, you will play a key part in building and scaling Snorkel's accounting organization. You will work closely with the Controller and Accounting team, owning key areas of the monthly close, preparing technical accounting analyses, supporting financial statement audits, and establishing scalable accounting processes and internal controls.

  • Support and help lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
  • Research, document, and implement technical accounting guidance under U.S. GAAP, and prepare technical accounting memos supporting complex accounting conclusions.
  • Serve as a primary accounting contact for external auditors, coordinate audit requests, and maintain organized supporting documentation.

  • Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and financial reporting
  • Experience supporting financial statement audits
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or high-growth technology companies
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memos and accounting policy documentation
  • Experience supporting month-end close in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge under U.S. GAAP
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
  • CPA required or actively pursuing CPA
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience preparing accounting white papers for auditors
  • Experience with project accounting and percentage-of-completion or milestone billing environments
  • Experience supporting due diligence for financing or M&A transactions
  • Experience with AI, cloud infrastructure, or professional services businesses
  • Experience with milestone or consumption-based revenue models
  • Experience building accounting functions in venture-backed startups
  • Experience implementing accounting systems or ERP solutions
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar financial systems
  • Experience designing and documenting internal controls
  • Experience supporting annual financial statement audits
  • Experience accounting for debt instruments, warrants, and other complex financing transactions
  • Experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards
  • Experience accounting for stock-based compensation under ASC 718
  • Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS, AI, or technology company
  • Experience with project-based, milestone-based, or services revenue models
  • CPA license
  • Big Four or national public accounting experience
