About The Role

About Traveloka Traveloka is Southeast Asia's leading travel and lifestyle super-app. We connect tens of millions of travellers across the region with flights, hotels, experiences, financial services, and more — all from a single platform. Since our founding in 2012, we have expanded to eleven markets, processed billions of dollars in transactions, and built one of the most recognised consumer brands in the region. We move fast because the region demands it. Southeast Asia is young, mobile-first, and growing faster than almost anywhere else on earth. We are not transplanting a Western playbook — we are writing a new one, from scratch, for a market that does not look like anywhere else — and we are calling for people who want to be part of that. About the Team Lending makes travel accessible — but only if we lend wisely. The Risk Control team inside Financing decides who we say yes to, on what terms, and how we keep losses in check while still letting customers book the trip they want. We work across Southeast Asian markets where credit data is thin, behaviour shifts fast, and every country plays by different rules, so there is no off-the-shelf model to copy. We build our own. Here you turn raw signals into approval and collection strategies that move real numbers. You will: Investigate fraud and default patterns, then design the rules and limits that stop them Translate portfolio performance into decisions credit and product teams act on Sharpen the operational playbooks that keep risk tight as we scale across the region If you like proving your judgement against live outcomes, this is your team. About the Job As a Principal / Staff Business Operations specialist, you are joining Traveloka Financing — a senior individual contributor with no direct reports who the function turns to on its hardest risk-control problems. You develop and implement operational plans tied to Risk Control's Must Win Battles, with direct impact on the domain's overall results, and you tackle genuinely complex problems where the right answer weighs operational and financial impact together. You enhance how the domain operates through expertise and influence, not by leading a team. Develop and implement operational plans, processes, and controls aligned to Risk Control's priorities, with direct impact on the domain's results and performance Own the most complex, cross-market risk-operations problems end to end, applying advanced, well-developed expertise to balance operational and financial trade-offs Enhance existing policies, processes, and products as a key contributor on improvement project teams within the domain Run the deep analysis that shapes decisions on loss, approval, fraud, and cost-to-serve, and propose the course of action within your area Influence Product, Risk, Compliance, Data, and Engineering by persuading them of your position with facts and evidence, without holding formal decision authority over them Set the technical bar for the function, mentoring analysts and reviewing critical work while remaining an individual contributor with no line-management duties Lead high-leverage improvement initiatives that change how risk operations run across countries Job Requirements You have at least 5 years of deep experience in business or risk operations, lending, fintech, or consulting, recognised as a go-to expert You have advanced, hands-on command of operational and risk data and the credit concepts behind it You design operating models and controls that scale across multiple markets and regulators You combine strong analytical depth with the judgment to make calls under uncertainty You influence senior cross-functional stakeholders through evidence and credibility, not authority You prefer to deliver impact as a senior individual contributor and mentor, rather than manage a team You stay composed and decisive in incidents and high-pressure periods You have a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (advanced degree a plus) You communicate complex strategy and results clearly, and you are fluent in English across multicultural SEA teams You have been the technical owner of a risk-operations or lending-operations capability that others depended on You have moved a P&L-relevant lever — approval rate, loss rate, cost-to-serve — meaningfully through your own work You bring deep knowledge of credit infrastructure and regulation across two or more SEA markets Join Us If you have read this far and felt something click — the problem, the scale, the moment — we would like to hear from you. We review every application. If your background is a strong fit, you will hear from us within 5 business days. We are building the kind of company where strong people choose to stay because the work keeps getting bigger and better. If that is what you are looking for, apply.
