About The Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Milling Setup Machinist to join a high-precision manufacturing operation supporting the aerospace, defense, and semiconductor industries .

This position will focus on setting up and machining complex, tight-tolerance components in a highly technical, high-mix manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has a strong CNC milling or lathe foundation, can independently perform setups, and is comfortable troubleshooting and making adjustments at the machine.

2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday

  • Four 10-hour shifts
  • Fridays off
  • Overtime opportunities available

Pay: $30–$50/hr+, highly depending on experience and technical capabilities. Additional flexibility is available for highly experienced machinists.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete setups on CNC milling machines for complex precision components.
  • Set tooling, fixtures, workholding, offsets, and work coordinates.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances .
  • Prove out jobs and make necessary adjustments at the machine.
  • Troubleshoot tooling, workholding, dimensional, and machining issues.
  • Make G-code, tool, and offset adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet customer and engineering requirements.
  • Work closely with CNC programmers, engineering, and quality to improve machining processes.
  • Support both new and established jobs in a high-mix precision manufacturing environment .

Requirements

  • CNC milling setup experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis CNC milling .
  • Strong blueprint reading and dimensional inspection skills.
  • Experience machining complex, tight-tolerance components .
  • Working knowledge of G-code and CNC program adjustments.
  • Experience with Matsuura, Yasda, Makino, Feeler, Fanuc, or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Mastercam experience is a plus.
  • Aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, or other high-precision machining experience strongly preferred.
