The Role
The Business Manager, ODT (Operations, Data & Technology) will support the Chief Operating Officer and ODT Leadership Team to build and maintain an effective business management capability that strengthens the definition and delivery of the ODT strategy, ensuring it is aligned to IFM’s vision, enterprise priorities and long-term investor outcomes. The role provides proactive strategic and operational support, acting as a central coordination point across ODT to drive operating discipline, strategic alignment and high-quality execution of agreed deliverables.
This role will provide proactive business management support and act as a key connector across teams, enabling functions and enterprise stakeholders to support aligned, timely and high-quality delivery across ODT. The successful candidate will help establish and maintain the operating rhythm across ODT, including leadership meetings, planning cycles, governance checkpoints, action tracking and decision follow-through, while identifying and implementing improvements to business management processes that strengthen execution accountability and improve workflow discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain management reporting that gives leadership clear visibility of ODT performance, including strategy delivery, budget, risk, compliance, people, operational health and key initiatives.
- Coordinate the planning disciplines needed to convert ODT strategic priorities into clear milestones, governance rhythms, reporting and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor ODT financial performance against plan, including P&L oversight, budget tracking and early escalation of risks, gaps or emerging pressure points.
- Coordinate the annual ODT business planning process, ensuring priorities, investment requests, capacity choices and trade-offs are clearly framed for leadership decision-making.
- Prepare high-quality executive communications, papers, presentations, agendas and briefing packs that clearly position ODT priorities, progress, risks and value delivered.
- Coordinate Board, ELT, committee and policy governance processes for ODT, including planners, registers, due-date tracking, submission readiness checks and follow-through.
- Partner with Internal Communications and the COO to shape and implement the ODT communications strategy, including channels, messaging, achievement tracking and core business management artefacts.
- Design and maintain an ODT performance dashboard covering budget, delivery, people, risk, compliance and operational health.
- Establish objective performance indicators to measure ODT contribution, effectiveness and value across the firm.
Your Background and Experience
- Significant experience in a similar role obtained within a financial services or complex global organisation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations or related discipline required with post graduate financial qualifications highly regarded (CA, CPA, CIMA etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to operate with executive-level stakeholders, providing anticipatory support and strategic coordination.
- Understanding of investment management operating environments and the role of Operations, Data & Technology in enabling investment outcomes.
- Proven experience in producing high-quality executive reporting and communication packs.
