About The Role
Job Description – Team Lead – Construction (E&I) Position: Team Lead – Construction (E&I) Experience: 15–20 Years Location: Energy House Department: Construction – E&I Job Purpose: To lead and manage Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) construction activities for projects, ensuring safe, timely, and quality execution in line with approved engineering specifications, project schedules, budgets, and company standards. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage E&I construction activities across project sites, from mobilization through commissioning and handover. • Plan, coordinate, and monitor electrical and instrumentation construction activities in accordance with project schedules. • Review engineering drawings, specifications,2D drawings,3D models, BOQs, and construction methodologies to ensure effective execution. • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, QA/QC, HSE,statutory requirements, commissioning teams, contractors, and clients. • Supervise contractors and construction teams to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to approved work procedures. • Ensure installation of electrical systems including HT/LT equipment, transformers,switchgear, MCCs, cable trays, ducts, cabling, earthing, lighting, and related systems. • Oversee instrumentation installation including field instruments, junction boxes, tubing, impulse lines, instrument cables, control panels, and related systems, loop checks etc. • Monitor construction progress against project milestones and take corrective actions for delays or constraints. • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. • Drive implementation of quality control procedures and ensure timely closure of punch points and inspection observations. • Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, site safety procedures, and statutory requirements. • Coordinate with commissioning teams for system readiness, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and successful project handover. • Monitor material availability and coordinate with Procurement/Stores to avoid construction delays. • Review contractor bills, work measurements, cost control and progress reports as required. • Review & monitor construction invoicing, measurements etc. • Prepare and review daily/weekly/monthly construction progress reports and highlight key risks and requirements to management. • Resolve site technical and execution issues in coordination with relevant stakeholders. • Prepare contractor RFQ based on scope matrix and terms & conditions, cost control etc. • Lead construction meetings with contractors and project stakeholders, visit customer place, project location & expedite work progress. • Mentor and develop engineers, supervisors, and site execution teams. Key Skills & Competencies: • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Sound knowledge of E&I construction and installation practices. • Strong project execution and construction planning skills. • Good understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems. • Ability to manage contractors and multiple stakeholders effectively. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. • Good knowledge of QA/QC and HSE, statutory requirements. • Ability to work under project timelines and manage execution priorities. • Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills. Educational Qualification Essential: • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics &Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline. Experience • 15–20 years of relevant experience in E&I construction/project execution. • Experience in EPC / Oil & Gas / Energy / Process Industry / Industrial Projects will be preferred. • Candidates should have demonstrated experience in leading E&I construction teams and managing contractors at project sites.
