About The Role

As an Assistant Fleet Personnel Officer at BSM , you will be responsible for supporting the effective execution of the manning plan by coordinating administrative, documentation, and communication activities related to seafarer recruitment and deployment. The role plays a key part in ensuring seamless coordination between shore-based operations, flag authorities, clients, and vessels, contributing to timely crew changes, regulatory compliance, and the overall efficiency of maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the recruitment and manning plan through accurate and timely administrative assistance.
  • Prepare and maintain seafarer documentation, including medical records, to support pre-employment screening.
  • Coordinate and monitor crew travel arrangements to ensure timely embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records in relevant databases in line with crew changes.
  • Provide guidance and support to seafarer candidates and respond to operational queries from stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver required embarkation and disembarkation documentation in accordance with client requirements.
  • Track mandatory training requirements per seafarer and coordinate attendance accordingly.
  • Apply for, verify, and track Flag State endorsements and related certification documentation.
  • Maintain orderly filing and records of all flag-related applications and correspondence.
  • Communicate with flag authorities and clients regarding the status of flag applications.
  • Issue crewing clothing and safety shoes to joining seafarers where applicable and in line with company standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in a maritime-related field.
  • Previous experience in crewing will be considered an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic understanding of maritime operations.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and cooperative mindset.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Good computer literacy and attention to detail.
