About The Role

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead ASPICE assessments and process improvement initiatives for automotive clients, ensuring alignment with the latest version of the ASPICE model and industry best practices.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for process improvement, addressing gaps identified in assessments and leveraging industry insights to enhance client capabilities.
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching to client teams on ASPICE practices, process optimization, and quality management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Design and deliver training sessions on ASPICE principles, processes, and best practices, tailoring content to meet client needs and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, project management, and quality assurance, to integrate ASPICE processes seamlessly into client operations.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in automotive software engineering, including emerging technologies, methodologies (e.g., Agile), and regulatory changes, to provide forward-thinking advice to clients.
  • Contribute to the development of internal methodologies, tools, and best practices for ASPICE consulting and assessment services.
  • Foster strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor in all aspects of ASPICE and automotive software and systems process improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead business development activities defining Statements of Work (SOWs), providing budgetary estimates, and submitting full proposals for client-funded projects. Leverage industry experience and network to win projects and build the business.
  • Lead client programs, including major/large-scale client programs, by interacting regularly with clients in technical program meetings and project reviews. Address client concerns and to resolve client issues. Provide expert technical leadership and guidance to clients in reference to safety, security, process framework, and related technical fields. Projects may include regular travel to client sites and to other UL locations.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business by providing technical and market expertise to management planning and report-out activities.
  • Integrate continuous improvement and safety culture in all aspects of the job.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification as an intacs™ Provisional Assessor required. Competent Assessor preferred.
  • Certification as an intacs™ Provisional Instructor preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience with the ASPICE model.
  • Experience leading successful ASPICE implementation and improvement projects.
  • Understanding of software and systems engineering processes, quality management systems, and the automotive development lifecycle.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies and their integration with ASPICE processes is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of client organizations.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites 50%, as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in safety related role in automotive safety
  • Safety Analysis knowledge including HARA, HIRE, FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, STPA etc.
  • Experience working with ISO 61508, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, and relevant safety standards
  • Experience with ISO 21434, Cybersecurity Management Systems (CSMS), Automotive Cybersecurity Risk Management, Continuous Cybersecurity Activities (Incident Response, Cybersecurity Monitoring)
  • Experience with ISO 24089, Software Update Management Systems (SUMS), including experience with vehicle software update campaigns and securing vehicle infrastructure related to software updates.
  • Experience in EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and ISA/IEC 62443 Series of Standards

Open to hybrid/remote work requiring 50% travel to client locations across Americas.
