Senior Install Technician, ID Install

The Senior Install Technician is a hands-on role responsible for the physical deployment, installation, and commissioning of IT infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. You will work as part of a skilled team to rack, stack, and cable servers, networking equipment, and other hardware components, ensuring capacity is delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to execute complex installation procedures in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.Key job responsibilities- Install, rack, and cable servers, networking equipment, and other hardware components in accordance with approved procedures and design documentation.- Execute structured cabling, fiber optic, and copper connectivity tasks to meet meet AWS standards.- Perform hardware validation and basic troubleshooting to confirm successful installation prior to handoff.- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and site-specific safety requirements.- Use internal tools and ticketing systems (e.g., SIM-T, Boost) to track work, manage installation batches, and document completed tasks.- Collaborate with Data Center Operations (DCO), Network, and Engineering teams to coordinate installation activities and resolve blockers.- Maintain accurate records of installed hardware, including serial numbers, asset tags, and rack positions.- Support capacity delivery milestones by meeting installation targets and quality standards.- Identify and escalate issues that may impact availability, safety, or project timelines.- Adhere to all physical security requirements, including clean-in/clean-out (CICO) procedures for red zone access.
