Job Description

We are currently seeking a Petroleum Engineer Intern for the Well Construction department located in our Dallas, TX office. This is a paid summer internship opportunity with housing provided if needed.

The intern will work on multiple well construction projects associated with Hunt's operated Bakken (unconventional) assets.

Responsibilities

Report Preparation : Help prepare detailed reports on drilling activities, including daily progress, equipment performance, and any encountered issues.
Field Visits : Participate in field visits to drilling sites to gain hands-on experience and understand the practical aspects of drilling operations.
Software Utilization : Learn and utilize industry-specific software for modeling and simulation of drilling operations.
Collaboration : Work closely with other engineers and team members to ensure smooth and efficient drilling operations.
Budgeting : Participate in the development of short- and long-term objectives and capital and expense budgets, ensuring compatibility with and support of overall company goals and objectives.
Engineering: Engineer, design, and technically support operational execution of new well drilling projects. In consultation with completion engineers, design and construct safe and efficient wells for completions, workovers, and stimulations.
Data Collection and Analysis : Assist in gathering and analyzing data from drilling operations to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

Required Degree Background

Rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree or master’s in petroleum engineering
Minimum of 3.0 grade point average

Required Skills/Knowledge

Previous internship experience preferred
Extracurricular activities are a plus
Presentation and communication skills are a must
Ability to communicate with field personnel and technical staff
