About The Role
Hunt Oil Company (HOC) began as a small family-owned business and has expanded into a well-respected oil and gas industry leader. Job Description
We are currently seeking a Petroleum Engineer Intern for the Well Construction department located in our Dallas, TX office. This is a paid summer internship opportunity with housing provided if needed.
The intern will work on multiple well construction projects associated with Hunt's operated Bakken (unconventional) assets.
Responsibilities
- Report Preparation : Help prepare detailed reports on drilling activities, including daily progress, equipment performance, and any encountered issues.
- Field Visits : Participate in field visits to drilling sites to gain hands-on experience and understand the practical aspects of drilling operations.
- Software Utilization : Learn and utilize industry-specific software for modeling and simulation of drilling operations.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other engineers and team members to ensure smooth and efficient drilling operations.
- Budgeting : Participate in the development of short- and long-term objectives and capital and expense budgets, ensuring compatibility with and support of overall company goals and objectives.
- Engineering: Engineer, design, and technically support operational execution of new well drilling projects. In consultation with completion engineers, design and construct safe and efficient wells for completions, workovers, and stimulations.
- Data Collection and Analysis : Assist in gathering and analyzing data from drilling operations to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
Required Degree Background
- Rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree or master’s in petroleum engineering
- Minimum of 3.0 grade point average
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Previous internship experience preferred
- Extracurricular activities are a plus
- Presentation and communication skills are a must
- Ability to communicate with field personnel and technical staff
