A Multi-Skilled Technician at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, a Forbes Five-Star luxury hotel, supports daily Engineering operations through preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and general building services. The role ensures hotel facilities remain safe, reliable and maintained to the highest standards while supporting an exceptional guest experience.

What will I be doing?

A Multi-Skilled Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing hotel facilities, equipment, guestrooms, public areas, meeting spaces, back-of-house areas, and engineering plant rooms. The role requires a flexible, hands-on approach, technical knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational requirements. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general building services.
• Conduct regular inspections, testing, and basic troubleshooting of hotel equipment and systems.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance across guestrooms, public areas, meeting rooms, back-of-house areas and Engineering plant rooms.
• Respond promptly to guest and departmental maintenance requests and ensure issues are resolved efficiently with minimal disruption.
• Attend equipment breakdowns and maintenance emergencies, taking appropriate action and escalating major issues to the Engineering Supervisor or Manager.
• Carry out basic repairs to guestrooms, fixtures, furniture, lighting, plumbing, air-conditioning, doors and other building elements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, equipment issues and completed repairs.
• Follow all hotel, Hilton, Engineering, health and safety, fire/life safety, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition.
• Communicate professionally with guests, colleagues and other departments, demonstrating the service standards expected of Waldorf Astoria.
• Support Engineering projects, inspections, contractors and hotel initiatives as required.
• Identify and report recurring maintenance issues, safety concerns and opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the engineering leaders.

• Previous experience in a similar Multi-Skilled Technician or Engineering role within a luxury hotel environment
• Previous experience in property management or building maintenance

• Strong commitment to delivering high levels of service
• Excellent grooming and professional standards
• Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond effectively to a range of different work situations
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and service

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions

• Previous experience within a luxury or Forbes Five-Star hotel environment
