Hardware Engineer, Server Infrastructure
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Seniority: Multi-Level
What You'll Do
The Warsaw team is CoreWeave's EMEA hub for Hardware Compute, focusing primarily on CoreWeave Omni—our model for deploying and operating the CoreWeave Cloud Platform inside customer- and partner-owned data centres. We build, scale, and maintain the infrastructure behind server hardware systems, where provisioning, firmware management, and hardware telemetry are first-class engineering challenges across diverse platforms and vendor configurations.
About the role
As a Hardware Engineer, Server Infrastructure, you will own server hardware across its entire lifecycle from provisioning through decommission, balancing hands-on engineering with operational support. You will automate hardware and firmware lifecycle management services, build monitoring and alerting systems, and lead qualification and bring-up for new server platforms. Partnering with data centre operations teams, server vendors, and OEMs, you will perform deep root-cause analysis on complex hardware and firmware failures to drive long-term resolution and manage RMAs. Additionally, you will serve as the senior point of contact for hardware escalations across EMEA and APAC, support new region bring-ups, participate in an on-call rotation, and feed operational insights back into system automation and platform design.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in hardware, infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering roles within data centre, cloud, or high-performance computing environments.
- Deep understanding of server hardware, components, and fleet management technologies.
- Proficiency in Python or Ansible, with hands-on experience programmatically interacting with server BMCs using Redfish or IPMI (Redfish preferred).
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with hardware vendors and OEMs to evaluate, qualify, and deploy server solutions.
- Proven experience supporting production infrastructure, driving incident escalations through to root-cause resolution, and participating in on-call rotations.
- Excellent technical documentation, analytical problem-solving skills, and fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred
- Experience bringing up new data centre regions or operating within customer/partner-owned facility infrastructure.
- Familiarity with GPU platforms and rack-scale systems (e.g., NVIDIA GB200 / GB300).
- Experience with BMC technologies, firmware lifecycle management, and fleet-scale hardware qualification programmes.
- Strong Linux systems administration and debugging skills at fleet scale.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes-based services, observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), and distributed production environments.
- Wondering if you're a good fit?
- We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams—even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match.
- You love to: Solve complex technical challenges at the boundary of hardware, firmware, and software while automating lifecycle procedures.
- You're curious about: Chasing intermittent hardware failures down to root cause and establishing reliable platform automation across global data centres.
- You're an expert in: Server hardware architecture, BMC management interfaces, and building resilient telemetry frameworks for large-scale cloud infrastructure.
