Deckhand/Onboard mechanic

About The Role
The Role
The deckhand/onboard mechanic will be responsible for
- Grease and clean machinery
- Perform simple maintenance tasks
- Load and unload cargo
- Perform other tasks as instructed by the captain
Responsibilities
- Assist the captain in safe vessel operations
- Enforce safety protocols, including life jackets
- Ensure safety of passengers
- Coordinate safe loading and offloading of cargos
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks
- Monitor engine performance and report abnormalities immediately
Requirements
- Minimum secondary school certificate
- Valid STCW and MEA certificate
- 1-3 years’ experience in marine operations preferred
- Proven skills in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining marine engines
- Basic first aid and fire safety training is an advantage
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
