Internships at SABC aim to provide students with an opportunity to work with our internal and external clients and teams to address key business problems and identify areas of growth for the company. With your education and experience, you will be able to take on real-world challenges from day one. Purpose The purpose of this 12 months graduate programme is to provide support to Airwave Travel department and to ensure successful implementation of Travel plans. This is an exciting opportunity for those who have completed their Travel and Tourism National Diploma, who are looking to enhance their skills and experience in the work environment. About the Team The Airwave Travel Team is responsible for the Procurement of local and international travel according to client’s needs and requirements to enable staff to perform their core functions both nationally and globally. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities: Conduct hotel site inspections, evaluate them accordingly and categorise them according to their standards. Recommend the most economic option to the client before making final bookings. Once trip or request is confirmed, open a file and attach all relevant documentation for record keeping. Get authorisation/SAP approval for all travel arrangements from client’s Divisions Book flights (local, national and international), accommodation and car hire as per client’s request. Process all aspects of travel on the reservation on system. On receipt of approved SAP, to issue all the relevant travel documents, e.g. flight ticket, accommodation voucher, transfers, insurance, etc. Offer client best possible rates. Confirm all travel arrangement in writing prior to the client’s travel. Advise on visas to ensure compliance with customs requirements for international travel. Maintain good admin process e.g. Filing, faxing, photocopying and telephone answering. Process excess baggage. Book conferences, workshops and events. Advise on Health requirement. Take responsibility for brochures ordering, info sheet etc. Do urgent bookings and manage after hour/emergency phone Ensure handover of travel documents to clients on time. INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS National diploma in Travel and Tourism Management or relevant qualification (NQF 6). KNOWLEDGE Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel Point to Point booking knowledge International International travel Fares Rules Point to Point Internal International Connections (Sectors) Knowledge of travel industry jargon
