About The Role

WSP's Global Capability Center (GCC) India is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to support the US Earth & Environment business with a primary focus on environmental data management, site investigation and remediation, and environmental site assessments.

The successful candidate will function as a technical lead supporting remediation, due diligence, contaminated-land, groundwater, and environmental compliance projects across multiple US regions. The role combines environmental engineering expertise with strong environmental data management capabilities and will help develop GCC as a center of excellence for environmental digital delivery.

The Senior Consultant will provide technical oversight, mentor junior staff, establish QA/QC procedures, interact directly with US project teams, and support strategic growth of GCC environmental delivery capabilities.

  • Serve as the technical lead for environmental data management and remediation support projects.
  • Guide project teams in environmental data workflows. Support and oversee environmental data compilation, processing, validation, and management.
  • Develop and implement SOPs and QA/QC protocols.
  • Create and maintain environmental databases using Microsoft Excel Access, SQL, EQuIS, or similar systems. Support data migration and environmental database maintenance activities
  • Lead review of analytical laboratory data reports and verify completeness and consistency. Perform data validation (Level 1 to 3), QA/QC checks and identify anomalies, outliers, completeness issues, and reporting discrepancies
  • Assist with Phase I, Phase II environmental site assessments. Review historical environmental and regulatory records. Review and support development of Conceptual Site Models.
  • Compile groundwater and site monitoring data. Generate trend analyses and monitoring summaries. Develop graphical and statistical data presentations
  • Review and support preparation of reports for Phase I, Phase II, and Due Diligence activities.
  • Coordinate with GIS and CAD teams for the production of maps, figures, and cross sections to be used in environmental reports.

Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of environmental investigations and remediation. A strong technical background in Environmental Site Assessments and Contaminated Land Remediation, Due Diligence reviews.
  • Experience supporting remediation and contaminated-site projects.
  • Software experience: Microsoft Excel, EQuIS, ArcGIS, Access, AutoCAD
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering.
  • Experience with Phase I, Phase II ESAs, laboratory data validation, groundwater monitoring programs, hydrogeology datasets.
  • Experience with ASTM ESA standards and US environmental regulations.
  • Experience supporting US-based environmental projects.
