About The Role

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer II to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for the design, development, testing, analysis, and support of innovative oilfield equipment and systems used across a variety of energy applications. The Design Engineer II will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, and field operations to develop reliable, high-quality products that meet customer and business requirements. This position offers the opportunity to contribute throughout the complete product lifecycle, from concept development and detailed engineering design through validation, manufacturing support, field deployment, and continuous product improvement.

Responsibilities ·

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and oilfield equipment using established engineering principles and best practices.
  • Participate in product development activities including concept generation, design, testing, validation, and implementation.
  • Perform engineering analysis of mechanical and fluid systems using analytical methods and simulation tools such as FEA and CFD.
  • Develop and maintain engineering drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
  • Create manufacturing, operation, maintenance, and servicing documentation for oilfield products and equipment.
  • Analyze test data, prepare technical reports, and recommend design improvements based on findings.
  • Design and support test fixtures, tooling, laboratory equipment, and testing procedures.
  • Conduct failure investigations and root cause analysis to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, laboratory, workshop, and field operations teams.
  • Support product lifecycle management activities, including engineering change control and configuration management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of engineering projects and product initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, HSE requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate engineering recommendations, project updates, and technical solutions to stakeholders.
  • Support innovation and technology development efforts to enhance product capabilities and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from a recognized university.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing environments involving control systems and machined components.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, product design methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and CAD software such as Creo .
  • Knowledge and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) .
  • Experience performing engineering calculations, testing, validation, and technical analysis activities.
  • Knowledge of oilfield equipment, drilling tools, and energy industry operations.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and engineering change management processes preferred.
  • Experience supporting product lines such as Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), Completions, Drilling Services, Wireline, Lifting & Handling, or Cementation preferred.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and product development teams.
  • Knowledge of oilfield operations across multiple product segments is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of programming, automation tools, or engineering algorithms is advantageous.
  • Ability to support products throughout the complete lifecycle, from concept through deployment and field operations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-25% as required.
