Job Summary
The Vice President of Taxation will lead the company’s tax strategy, overseeing all aspects of tax planning, compliance, reporting, and risk management. This individual will work closely with senior leadership to optimize the company’s effective tax rate within regulatory compliance, while supporting business growth and operational excellence. This role requires a leader who can navigate complex tax landscapes while maintaining high standards of integrity and transparency. This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Tax Planning & Advisory
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies aligned with company objectives and evolving regulations and on our expanding international commercial footprint.
- Lead the tax department, managing a team of professionals across various areas of taxation.
- Advise senior leadership on the tax implications of business operations.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations; communicate impacts and recommend proactive solutions.
- Direct tax due diligence and integration for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and review of all federal, state, and local returns, audits and filings ensuring compliance with the related tax laws and regulations.
- Direct the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740 and collaborate with the accounting group on ASC 450 and 718 as it relates to tax matters.
- Ensure robust internal controls over tax processes in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and oversee the accurate and timely preparation of tax related disclosures for 10-K and 10-Q financial statement filings.
Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team.
- Modernize tax operations through existing, or the implementation of, tax technologies, automation, and data analytics.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, treasury and operations teams to optimize tax positions and minimize risk as well as provide timely and accurate forecasting data
- Drive process improvements and technology adoption within the tax function.
- Manage the enterprise tax budget and oversee the selection and performance of outside tax advisors.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership roles within a large public corporation or a "Big 4" accounting firm with experience in large, publicly traded companies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- CPA certification is required.
- Deep knowledge of federal and state/local tax (SALT) regulations and solid understanding of US GAAP.
- Strong leadership, communication and strategic thinking skills with ability to distill complex tax concepts for non-tax executives and the Board of Directors.
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis for tax planning.
- Proven track record of leading teams through organizational growth or digital transformation.

- Education: A Master’s in Taxation is highly preferred.
Compensation
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
