SharePoint Online Administrator (Microsoft 365) - contract

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Online Administrator in Dublin, Ireland to support the ongoing administration, governance, security and optimisation of a large Microsoft 365 environment within a key customer.
The successful contractor will play a key role in managing SharePoint Online, supporting information governance initiatives, administering external access and guest users, and helping ensure the environment remains secure, compliant and fit for future growth.
- Administer and manage the SharePoint Online environment, including sites, document libraries, permissions and governance controls.
- Manage SharePoint site lifecycle processes, including provisioning, ownership reviews, archiving and decommissioning.
- Support implementation and administration of Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels.
- Assist with information architecture design, including site structures, metadata and navigation.
- Support SharePoint administration for Microsoft Teams-connected sites
- Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint Online issues and service incidents.
- Administer external users and guest access through Microsoft Entra ID.
- Review and optimise permissions, security groups, access controls and external sharing configurations.
- Conduct content audits, rationalisation and migration activities.
- Participate in governance forums, stakeholder meetings and project working groups.
- Provide recommendations, progress updates and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate
- 4+ years' experience administering and governing Microsoft SharePoint Online.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102).
- Strong experience managing Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms.
- Experience working with:
- SharePoint Online administration
- Permissions and security management
- Site lifecycle management
- Information architecture
- Experience developing governance frameworks, policies and operational procedures.
- Experience reviewing and improving existing SharePoint environments through governance, security and operational enhancements.
- Degree in I.T., Computer Science or related field.
