Cook - Courtyard Memphis Downtown

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
• Assist with menu planning and development under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager
• Adhere to portion control guidelines and minimize waste
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
• Collaborate with the Bistro team to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
• Follow all proper food handling procedures and brand standards for safety and quality

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or hotel setting
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds
• Work in a hot kitchen environment
