About The Role

About the Role

The General Manager of Hotel Versailles reports to the Vice President of Customer Engagement and provides strategic and operational leadership for Hotel Versailles, Silas, 1819 Room, Riverwatch, Stillwater Valley Golf Course, event operations and other assigned Renaissance facilities and offerings.

This role is responsible for all aspects of hospitality operations, including exceptional guest experiences, teammate engagement and development, financial performance and revenue generation, operational excellence, technology and brand reputation. The General Manager establishes and executes strategies to achieve business objectives, develops and leads high performing teams, actively participates in the operation while leading by example, and serves as a key liaison within the local community.

What You’ll Lead

  • Oversees all operations of Hotel Versailles, Silas Creative Kitchen, 1819 Room, Stillwater Valley Golf Course, Riverwatch, Midmark Café, and Sycamore Bridge Farm.
  • Reinforces and models Hotel Versailles’s Art+Science experience framework across operations.
  • Supports a locally driven Food + Beverage program and collaborates with culinary leaders and events teams to ensure high quality, regional offerings.
  • Empowers teammates to deliver authentic, guest-centric service, and utilizes guest feedback to enhance experiences.
  • Oversees financial performance across all entities, interprets P&L reports, develops annual budget with business and marketing plans, forecast revenue and expenses, and adjusts operations to optimize profitability and long-term growth.
  • Participates in marketing and sales strategy, revenue diversification efforts, to maximize occupancy, Food and Beverage performance, and event bookings, and evaluates performance of such efforts.
  • Partners with HR and is responsible for overseeing talent acquisition, teammate development, performance management, and succession planning for all hotel, restaurant and golf departments, creating a high-performance culture.
  • Drives a culture of engagement, accountability, and service excellence through leadership visibility, teammate coaching, and operational discipline.
  • Collaborates with Midmark leadership for direction, support, and approval on strategic and operational matters to achieve brand positioning, operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
  • Builds strong community relationships through proactive engagement with local officials, businesses, and customers, and represents the hotel at events, local boards, and service initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, resort management, culinary arts, tourism, event management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of management experience in a full-service or boutique hotel, resort, food and beverage management, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, financials, and guest service standards.
  • Strong financial literacy, including P&L interpretation and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue strategy.
  • Proficiency in hospitality technology systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS), Central Reservation Systems (CRS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and audio/visual systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and public presentation skills.
  • Skilled in team leadership, coaching, and team development across diverse teams.
  • Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and composure under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Passion for guest service, operational excellence, and local engagement.
