Job Purpose

Lead the Regulatory Compliance function by overseeing regulatory advisory, regulatory change management, related compliance monitoring, and engagement with regulators. Support the Head of Compliance in maintaining an effective Compliance Framework, promoting a strong compliance culture, and ensuring regulatory obligations are identified, assessed, implemented, and monitored across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach the Compliance team on Regulatory Compliance Management and maintaining comprehensive regulatory inventory, interpreting regulations, regulatory requirements and expectations, developing compliance risk assessment methodologies, aggregating and reporting compliance risk exposures to senior management and committee as required. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous professional development within the team.
  • Lead the designs and executes compliance monitoring and testing for areas under responsibilities, reports findings, and tracks remediation.
  • Oversee regulatory filings and responses and manages the regulatory inspections and requests. In the event of regulatory breaches, oversees the breach investigation, escalation, and reporting to regulators, ensuring timely response and remediation.
  • Liaise with regulators and industry bodies and participate, where possible, in industry meetings to ensure knowledge exchange about regulations and to improve compliance risk management knowledge;
  • Responsible for overall Compliance reporting to relevant stakeholders including local management, Group, and relevant committees.

Regulatory Compliance Program and Governance

  • Oversee the Regulatory Change Management process to ensure timely assessment and implementation of new laws, regulations, and industry guidance.
  • Support the enhancement and maintenance of the Compliance Framework, Compliance Charter, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide strategic compliance input into business initiatives, product development, outsourcing arrangements, and operational changes

Regulatory Advisory

  • Lead the Regulatory Compliance team to serve as the primary compliance advisor to business units on relevant regulatory matters and ensure practical, risk-based, and commercially sound compliance advice. Escalate significant regulatory matters and emerging risks to the Head of Compliance and senior management.

Other Leadership Supports

  • Support the Head of Compliance for the planning of Annual Compliance Plan
  • Support budget planning, resource management, and departmental strategy
