What you'll be doing

As an RTR MEC & Post Close Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting Avon’s accounting, taxation, statutory, and IFRS reporting activities. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information while supporting month-end close processes, financial reconciliations, reporting requirements, and compliance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working with financial data, driving accuracy, and contributing to a high-performing accounting function.

This opportunity is offered as a fixed-term maternity cover contract with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

Supporting monthly and month-end closing activities in line with company deadlines and accounting standards.
Actively participating in statutory and IFRS reporting processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting results.
Preparing and maintaining reconciliations of local general ledger accounts.
Ensuring alignment and reconciliation between IFRS and local accounting requirements.
Preparing and organizing supporting documentation required for accounting entries and financial reporting.
Processing general ledger journal entries accurately and on time.
Ensuring timely, accurate, and complete transfer of financial data.
Preparing regular and ad hoc financial reports for internal stakeholders.
Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and tax-related documentation.
Supporting year-end audits and tax audits by providing required information and documentation.
Collaborating with internal teams to maintain compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

Experience in accounting, finance, record-to-report (RTR), or general ledger accounting activities.
Understanding of month-end close processes and financial reconciliations.
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
Familiarity with IFRS and statutory reporting requirements is an advantage.
Experience processing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.
Exposure to tax-related processes and audit support activities would be beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other finance or ERP systems.
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
