Watchman/Security - Moxy Hotel (Hillsboro Village)

Qualifications

• Previous experience in security or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform regular patrols.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

Working Conditions

• This position may require working evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The Security/Watchman may be required to stand or walk for extended periods.
• The role involves both indoor and outdoor responsibilities, regardless of weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Property Surveillance

• Monitor surveillance cameras to ensure the security of the hotel premises.
• Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior areas to detect and deter suspicious activities.

Access Control

• Verify the identity of individuals entering the hotel and ensure they have proper authorization.
• Control access to restricted areas and maintain a log of visitors.

Emergency Response

• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies.
• Coordinate with local authorities and hotel management in case of incidents.

Guest and Staff Assistance

• Assist guests and staff with security-related concerns and inquiries.
• Provide a visible and approachable presence to enhance the sense of security.

Incident Reporting

• Document all security-related incidents and prepare detailed reports.
• Communicate incidents and observations to the Director of Security and other relevant personnel.

Safety Compliance

• Enforce hotel safety and security policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.

Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment, such as surveillance cameras and alarms.
• Report any malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Light work – exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
