About The Role

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment. This role is responsible for performing electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs, upgrades, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment installation throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate has strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with PLCs and servo drives, and the ability to work independently during equipment breakdowns and plant projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs on plant machinery and equipment
  • Service ink and wash-up systems on printing presses
  • Become proficient in the setup and operation of bag-making equipment
  • Troubleshoot plant machinery using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems
  • Perform mechanical and electrical machine upgrades
  • Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks
  • Help create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules
  • Repair mandrels and rack-in/rack-out systems on printing presses
  • Repair unwind and rewind drives and slitting systems
  • Replace bearings on machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair servo drives and PLC systems
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts
  • Direct contractors and oversee plant projects
  • Assist with accident investigations and recommend safety improvements
  • Develop procedures that improve safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability
  • Support new equipment installation, equipment upgrades, and equipment relocation
  • Maintain plant support equipment, including air compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, and oxidizers
  • Respond to off-hours breakdowns and participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, printing, converting, or a related environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with PLCs, servo drives, motors, bearings, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment upgrades
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate outside contractors
  • Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to be on call and respond to breakdowns outside normal working hours

Preferred Experience

  • Printing press maintenance
  • Bag-machine or converting-equipment experience
  • Experience with ink systems, wash-up systems, unwind/rewind systems, and slitting equipment
  • Experience maintaining air compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, and oxidizers
