Malaria continues to pose a major public health challenge in Africa, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths each year. While artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) remain highly effective and are the recommended treatment for uncomplicated malaria, the emergence of resistance to artemisinin and partner drugs in other regions presents a growing threat.
