Lead One of the Midwest's Premier Cardiovascular Programs

The HSHS Illinois Physician Enterprise is seeking an accomplished physician leader to serve as Executive Medical Director of one of the Midwest's most respected cardiovascular service lines: HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular.

With more than 50 cardiovascular physicians, 50 advanced practice providers, six regional cardiovascular hubs, and 30 outreach clinics, HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular has built a national reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, research, and compassionate patient care.

This unique opportunity combines executive leadership with an active clinical cardiology practice in Springfield, IL*. Allowing you to shape organizational strategy while continuing to care for patients.

Leadership Responsibilities

As Executive Medical Director, you will

  • Provide strategic leadership for HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular.
  • Advance quality, innovation, and clinical excellence.
  • Mentor physician & APP leaders and strengthen provider engagement.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support service line and organizational growth.
  • Represent HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular throughout the communities we serve.
  • Evolve HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular as an integrated service line, focuses on value-based and population health outcomes.
  • Report directly to the President & CEO of Illinois Physician Enterprise

Pay Range: $630,000.00 - $739.500.00

*Opportunity to live and/or practice in HSHS locations outside of Springfield, Il.

CORE function: Provider

Education Qualifications

  • Clinical doctorate is required.

Experience Qualifications

  • Competence in delivery of healthcare services for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

  • Licensed physician in the state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Maintain a Controlled Substance license for the state and Federal DEA, when applicable to their specialty.
  • Must have successfully completed, or in the process of completing, an accredited residency program.
  • Must be board certified or board eligible.

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.
