Job Description
The selected candidate will act as the Indonesia Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (Deputy MLRO), supporting the Indonesia MLRO in the management and oversight of Financial Crimes risk across the franchise. Responsibilities include partnering with Global Financial Crimes (GFC), Front Line Units (FLU), Compliance, Risk, Operations and other control functions to ensure compliance with applicable Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF), Economic Sanctions, Fraud and Financial Crimes regulations.
The role will also support broader regional Financial Crimes governance activities across Asia Pacific, including risk assessments, regulatory change management, issue management, governance reporting, and strategic Financial Crimes initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support the Indonesia MLRO and regional Financial Crimes teams on risk management and governance activities
- Support the Indonesia MLRO in fulfilling regulatory obligations and maintaining an effective Financial Crimes governance framework.
- Act as delegate for the MLRO in engagements with regulators, auditors, law enforcement agencies, and senior management forums as required.
- Perform monitoring, oversight, and challenge activities over Front Line Unit (FLU) and Control Function (CF) owned Financial Crimes processes and controls.
- Conduct Financial Crimes risk assessments covering AML, sanctions, customer due diligence, regulatory reporting, and related risk areas.
- Identify, assess, escalate and monitor Financial Crimes risks, issues, regulatory breaches, and control enhancements.
- Review regulatory developments and assess impacts to country policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
- Support regulatory examinations, independent testing reviews, internal audits, and remediation activities.
- Prepare governance reporting, management information, key risk indicators, committee materials, and executive presentations.
- Support oversight of Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) governance and Financial Crimes investigations processes.
- Support regional Financial Crimes governance initiatives, thematic reviews, and regulatory change programs across APAC jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with countries, regional, and global stakeholders to enhance Financial Crimes frameworks and risk management practices.
Required Skills
- 10+ Years of relevant work experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud and/or Economic Sanctions
- Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, Economic Sanctions, Fraud Risk and Financial Crimes regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, risk assessments, and issue remediation activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with regulators, senior management, and stakeholders across all levels.
- Sound risk management skills and ability to independently assess, challenge and escalate risks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across a matrix organization.
Desired Skills
- Subject matter expertise in AML, Financial Crimes Compliance, Fraud Risk, and Economic Sanctions within Indonesia and APAC.
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience serving as Deputy MLRO, AML Officer, Compliance Officer, Financial Crimes Officer, or similar leadership role.
- Familiarity with PPATK, OJK, Bank Indonesia and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of banking products, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, customer due diligence, and Financial Crimes vulnerabilities.
- Experience supporting regional or multi-jurisdictional Financial Crimes programs.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
