About The Role
The Construction Manager is responsible for leading and managing all onshore and offshore construction activities associated with large-scale Upstream Oil & Gas projects, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution. The role provides overall leadership for construction planning, execution, site management, contractor coordination, and field supervision from project mobilization through mechanical completion. The position requires extensive experience in offshore oil and gas developments, preferably within a PMC (Project Management Consultancy) environment, and a proven track record of delivering mega projects for major Middle East/GCC operators.
- Lead and manage all construction activities for offshore and associated onshore project facilities.
- Develop and implement construction execution strategies, plans, and procedures aligned with project objectives.
- Ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Manage and coordinate EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams.
- Oversee fabrication, installation, hook-up, brownfield modifications, offshore campaigns, and site construction activities.
- Monitor construction progress, identify risks and constraints, and implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering deliverables, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning, Operations, HSE, and Quality teams.
- Lead construction readiness reviews, constructability assessments, and site planning activities.
- Manage offshore construction interfaces involving platforms, subsea systems, pipelines, utilities, and process facilities.
- Ensure effective management of construction resources, manpower, equipment, and logistics.
- Participate in project reviews, technical discussions, risk assessments, HAZID, and constructability workshops.
- Review and approve construction methodologies, work packs, installation procedures, and execution plans.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Support mechanical completion, system turnover, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare and present construction progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline).
- Minimum 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Significant experience predominantly in Upstream Offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Proven experience as Construction Manager on major EPC/EPCI/PMC projects.
- PMC experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction activities for large-scale offshore developments.
- Mandatory experience working on Middle East/GCC projects.
