Position Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) is an integral member of Clarity Pediatrics' interdisciplinary care team, collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurse care coordinators, community health workers, psychologists, and therapists. Under the direction of clinical leadership, the Medical Assistant ensures efficient clinical operations by scheduling patient appointments, gathering and organizing patient data and forms, communicating with referring providers and patients, and supporting seamless care delivery for children with chronic conditions. Note this is a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Scheduling & Coordination

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments across the care team using EHR and scheduling systems
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointment availability and reschedule as needed
  • Track and reduce no-show rates by sending reminders and proactive outreach to families
  • Manage scheduling logistics including confirmation calls/messages and appointment preparation

Data Collection & Forms Management

  • Gather, organize, and maintain patient intake forms, medical histories, and relevant documentation
  • Verify patient information is complete and accurate in the EHR system before clinical visits

Provider & Referring Physician Communication

  • Reach out to referring providers to establish care, obtain medical records, and clarify patient history
  • Support care coordination by communicating appointment outcomes and updates to referring providers
  • Track referral status and follow up on outstanding items with external providers

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High school diploma or GED; Medical Assistant certification (CCMA, AAMA, or equivalent) preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and multiple technology platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Enthusiasm for joining a growing startup and contributing to innovative care models
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace suitable for remote work
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish

Logistics

  • Full-time, contract position (40 hours per week to start)
  • Due to our clinic hours, this position will be M - F from 9 AM - 6 PM PST with a 1 hour break daily
  • Occasional Saturday coverage (to be decided in advance)
  • Hourly $20-25/hr + medical and ancillary benefits (depending on Geographic Location)
