About The Role

Job Description: Head – Human Resources Department: Human Resources & Administration Location: WTG Generator Control Panel Manufacturing Unit Reporting To: Plant Head / Business Head Position Summary The Head - Human Resources will be responsible for leading the complete HR function of the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Control Panel Manufacturing Unit. The role will focus on manpower planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, statutory compliance, industrial relations, training & development, payroll governance, and organizational development to support business objectives and plant growth. Key Roles & Responsibilities HR Strategy & Workforce Planning Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives. Plan workforce requirements in coordination with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Procurement, Finance, and Stores departments. Drive manpower budgeting and workforce optimization initiatives. Support organizational growth and succession planning. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Lead recruitment activities for operators, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and management staff. Develop sourcing strategies through job portals, consultants, referrals, apprenticeships, and campus recruitment. Ensure timely closure of positions as per approved manpower plans. Oversee employee onboarding and induction programs. Performance Management System (PMS) Design and implement performance management systems. Facilitate goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals. Partner with department heads to monitor employee performance and productivity. Drive performance improvement and capability-building initiatives. Learning & Development Identify training needs through competency mapping and Training Need Analysis (TNA). Develop annual training calendars and budgets. Coordinate technical, behavioral, leadership, safety, and compliance training programs. Monitor training effectiveness and competency development. Employee Engagement & Welfare Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve morale and retention. Organize employee welfare programs, recognition schemes, communication forums, and celebrations. Conduct employee feedback surveys and action planning. Promote a positive and productive work culture. Payroll & HR Operations Oversee payroll processing, attendance management, leave administration, and employee records. Ensure HRIS and employee database accuracy. Monitor employee lifecycle activities from onboarding to separation. Establish HR policies, SOPs, and process controls. Industrial Relations & Employee Relations Maintain healthy employee relations across all levels. Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters. Support conflict resolution and workforce harmony. Coordinate with contract manpower agencies and service providers. Statutory Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory requirements, including: Factories Act Industrial Relations Code Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Payment of Bonus Act Payment of Gratuity Act Minimum Wages Act Contract Labour Regulations POSH Act Apprentices Act Ensure audit readiness for statutory, customer, ISO, and corporate audits. Maintain all HR statutory records, notices, registers, and documentation. Organization Development Develop competency frameworks and career progression pathways. Drive culture-building and leadership development initiatives. Support change management and organizational transformation projects. Implement HR best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Administration & Facility Management Oversee administration activities including transport, canteen, housekeeping, security, and facility support services. Monitor manpower deployment through contractors. Ensure smooth functioning of employee welfare facilities. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Act as a strategic HR business partner to plant leadership. Lead and mentor the HR and Administration team. Collaborate with department heads to improve workforce productivity and engagement. Support management decision-making through HR analytics and workforce insights. Key Accountabilities (KRAs) Recruitment closure within targeted timelines. Employee retention and turnover control. Statutory compliance and audit readiness. Training plan completion and competency development. Employee engagement and satisfaction improvement. Payroll accuracy and timeliness. Reduction in absenteeism and manpower shortages. Effective industrial and employee relations. HR cost optimization and manpower productivity improvement. Educational Qualification MBA / MSW in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Personnel Management, or equivalent. Additional certifications in Labour Laws, IR, Payroll, Talent Management, or OD will be an added advantage. Experience 10-15+ years of HR experience in manufacturing industries. Minimum 5 years in a leadership role heading HR functions. Experience in Electrical Equipment, Electronics Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Renewable Energy, Wind Turbine Generator Manufacturing, Control Panel Manufacturing, or Engineering Industries preferred. Position-Specific Requirements Strong knowledge of manufacturing HR practices. Expertise in labour law compliance and statutory audits. Experience handling blue-collar and white-collar workforce management. Exposure to recruitment of technical and engineering talent. Experience in Training Need Analysis (TNA) and competency management. Knowledge of payroll systems and HRMS platforms. Experience managing contract labour and manpower agencies. Ability to support rapid organizational growth and workforce planning. Exposure to ISO systems and audit processes.
