What You'll Do
- Manage financial activities for assigned housing properties, grants, and programs
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to leadership
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and investments
- Support annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements
- Perform account reconciliations and monthly close activities
- Partner with property management and operational teams to support financial success
- Assist in achieving organizational goals through strategic financial management
QualificationsWhat You'll Bring
- Accounting or finance experience with a general understanding of financial statements, general ledger activity, reconciliations, budgeting, and basic accounting principles.
- A strong team player who works well with Finance, Property Management, and other departments across the organization.
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems, processes, programs, and areas of finance.
- Good problem-solving skills and the willingness to research an issue, ask appropriate questions, and work toward a solution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate financial information clearly.
- Dependable and organized, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and initiative. Someone who is willing to jump in, help the team, and learn rather than needing to already know everything.
- Desire to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility as knowledge and experience develop.
- Adaptable and flexible with the ability to adjust to changing priorities, deadlines, and organizational needs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy. This is especially important in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end work.
- Must be local or able to reliably commute to the office, as this is an in-person position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
OR
- Associate degree in Accounting and ten (10) years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Valid Florida Driver's License and ability to meet PCHA insurance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Yardi software
- Experience in affordable housing, public sector finance, grant administration, or HUD-funded programs
