The Position
We are seeking a hands-on Accountant to join our U.S. Controlling & Accounting team. This position is fully remote, with the employee expected to work primarily from their remote location (from Madrid, Sevilla, or Barcelona).
The role will require periodic in-person attendance at our Madrid, Spain headquarters, generally on a monthly basis, to collaborate with the broader Controlling & Accounting team, particularly during key month-end close periods. The frequency and timing of office attendance will be communicated in advance based on business needs and close-cycle requirements.
The Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of key financial processes. The role will be actively involved in month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, audit preparation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete bank reconciliations for 15+ bank accounts• Perform balance-sheet account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process• Prepare and post journal entries• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records• Manage and record daily accounting transactions• Monitor expense tracking and support expense-related accounting activities• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and management reporting• Support internal and external audit preparation, including gathering documentation and responding to information requests• Provide administrative support to the Controlling & Accounting team as needed• Support month-end and year-end close activities while meeting established deadlines• Track tax and legal expenses and maintain appropriate supporting documentation• Collaborate with headquarters and cross-functional stakeholders as needed• Maintain process documentation and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, procedures, and controls• Maintain lease records and account for operating leases in accordance with applicable local accounting standards

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related careers
- At least 2 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and processes
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Hands-on approach and willingness to support a broad range of accounting activities
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across teams and locations

- Previous experience at a Big Four or a leading global accounting firm
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or another accounting ERP system
- Experience supporting or participating in month-end close activities
- Experience with bank reconciliations, balance-sheet reconciliations, and journal-entry preparation
- Familiarity with operating lease accounting
