The Senior Accountant supports management, as needed, by performing accounting functions, including but not limited to revenue recognition, accounts receivable, general ledger account reconciliations, and special projects.This is a hybrid role in our St Louis, MO office, combining remote work with three (3) days in office per week.ResponsibilitiesReview sales contracts and reduce contract related issues to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)Analyze and understand various service/product offerings and revenue streams to ensure proper revenue recognitionPrepare weekly cash management and payables reportingPerform revenue cost accounting and reporting activities on a monthly basisPerform month-end account reconciliationsPerform inventory managementResolve revenue related issues and follow-up on outstanding itemsAssist in financial audits and implement audit recommendationsReview and recommend improvements to current revenue recognition strategiesPrepare documentation for all revenue related activitiesResearch sales tax laws and regulations as neededCommunicate effectively with staff as well as the various departments that play a role in the billing and revenue recognition functionsInform and educate other business areas as to the financial impact of potential business decisions they are responsible for makingPrepare and submit compliance reporting and filingsUse tax, business licenses, annual reports/filings, etc.Our Ideal Candidate Has:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance7+ years of experience in accounting rolesExperience with ERP systems; NetSuite proficiency preferredDemonstrated advanced experience with accounting and spreadsheet software, especially ExcelSolid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standardsSelf-motivated, flexible, deadline focused and able to complete tasks with minimal supervisionAcute attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge
