About The Role
DescriptionThe IHT Clinical Team Leader is a Master’s-level clinician who balances direct clinical care with high-level administrative support, clinical oversight assistance, and operational workflow management. The position consists of a 30-hour direct client caseload combined with 10 hours of dedicated administrative support to assist the Program Director; this split could change based on the needs of the program. This role bridges clinical expertise and administrative execution, helping manage referrals, audit documentation, mentor staff, maintain quality management standards, and assist with program leadership.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions

- Maintain an active client caseload (30 hours/week) delivering home- and community-based clinical services in accordance with program standards
- Complete timely, high-quality clinical documentation, including Comprehensive Assessments, CANS, Individualized Treatment Plans, and progress notes
- Provide case coverage during employee transitions and extended staff absences as needed
Administrative & Operational Support (10 Hours)
- Assist the Program Director with processing, screening, assigning, and tracking client referrals and waitlists in accordance with insurance specifications and agency guidelines
- Oversee and monitor authorization tracking, billing units, utilization management, and documentation timelines across active client charts
- Participate in internal chart auditing and quality management activities to ensure alignment with insurance, state, and agency compliance standards
- In the absence of the Program Director, assist with necessary daily administrative operations to ensure uninterrupted service delivery
Clinical Guidance & Staff Support
Provide technical assistance and consultation to staff regarding medical necessity, psychiatric needs, and clinical documentation
Assist in evaluating high-risk situations, providing crisis guidance (e.g., crisis line support), and assisting staff with state-mandated filings (e.g., 51As)
Assist the Program Director with interviewing, onboarding, coaching, and training new clinical and support staff
Support staff in developing skills related to the wraparound philosophy, core elements of the practice profile, care planning teams, and culturally responsive care
Facilitate or participate in supervision of bachelor’s level team members, team meetings, and quality improvement meetings as requested. Including potential direct supervision of and responsibility for staff job performance
Travel Required
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets CFS Driver Policy. Travel is required to provide services in different settings and to attend agency meetings, events, and training courses.
Qualifications & BenefitsRequired Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field from an accredited educational institution. Independent or eligible licensure (e.g., LMHC, LICSW, LCSW) preferred. Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience within home- and community-based systems of care serving children, youth, and families. Demonstrated understanding of MassHealth documentation standards, wraparound care, insurance authorization processes, and CANS requirements.
