DescriptionConstellation Health is seeking NEW and AWESOME School Based Occupational Therapists to join our team in one of the following locations:
Greenwich, Stamford or Norwalk, CT!
Must have CT License or be in process of getting their CT OT License

Occupational therapists based in public schools are expected to lead the process of development, coordination and implementation in service delivery to children with identified learning and participation needs in this setting. Screening, evaluation, educational program planning and transition planning, provide therapeutic interventions and strategies, and exit planning is expected of the occupational therapist, for students identified with, or suspected of having, disabilities or deficits that interfere with their ability to participate fully and successfully in school. Other duties of the occupational therapist may include consultation services, supervision of support staff, and related administrative tasks as part of service delivery within a school building and district. A therapist may have to provide services at several work locations. The workday is typically 8 hours of scheduled work time.
Position Qualifications
Graduate of an AOTA accredited curriculum, with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. Must hold a Connecticut State License to practice Occupational Therapy. Candidates eligible for licensure will be considered. Local travel required. Field work in pediatric setting preferred.

Be able to identify, analyze and clarify professional concerns and issues, in order to make responsible decisions within the changing context of roles and responsibilities. This includes demonstrating the ability to provide excellent customer service and professionalism within the schools.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
Demonstrate understanding and comprehension of all information required for the multiple roles the OT assumes in the school setting. Must demonstrate core knowledge of occupational therapy as it relates to school-based practice.

Gathers information needed to evaluate a child by reviewing records and communicating with the school team.
Administers screenings in school-based settings and determines appropriate recommendations
Administers the evaluation process fully and administers appropriate assessment instruments and procedures, taking into consideration a student’s age, developmental level, condition, and educational placement.
Interprets assessment results in developing or modify occupational therapy intervention plans.
Plans and implements intervention strategies utilizing a continuum of service delivery models.
Participates in the IEP process, engages in consensual decision making with school team.
Communicates effectively (orally and in writing) with education personnel, administrators, parents and community members.
Provides accurate documentation of the assessment and intervention results.
Facilitates transition among agencies, programs, and professionals as service provision changes (early intervention to pre-school, pre-school to school etc.)
May supervise Level I/ Level II field work students.
May mentor newer OTR
May supervise COTA
Identifies emergency situations and determines appropriate action to ensure child safety.

QualificationsQualifications
Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of employment
Oasis experience strongly desired.
Have reliable transportation and willing to commute to provide the best in home patient care.
