POSITION: Food Service Cook

SALARY: $20.55-$25.03/hr DOE

REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager

LOCATION: San Poil Treatment Center - Keller, WA

SUMMARY

The Food Services Cook prepares and serves daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals at San Poil Treatment Center. Responsibilities include meal preparation, serving, dishwashing and sanitizing, setting up and cleaning food service equipment, and maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen, freezer, refrigerator, and storage areas. The Cook follows all applicable federal, state, local, and Tribal food safety and sanitation standards and works under the direction of the Food Services Manager.

QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 12-18 months of restaurant type cooking experience in food services. Experience in an institutional, military, or large commercial kitchen a plus.

Must be a minimum age of 21 years old.

Valid Washington State Driver’s License is required and be insurable.

Requires the ability to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste, and smell.

Requires the ability to frequently use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.

Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Requires the ability to routinely stand for long periods of time.

Requires the ability to work outside normal business hours, including rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
